IMPORTANT! The vote on needle exchange WILL happen this Monday, July 18th at 7pm @ City Hall.

Contrary to the last scheduled vote that never occurred, this one IS on the city council's agenda for Monday. The speakout starts at 6:30. This is where people who have previously put their names on the list can speak to the city council. If you are coming and want to speak let us know as soon as possible. The actual city council meeting starts at 7pm.

Directions to the Council meeting can be found here.

Historically, the NEX vote usually happens at the end of the night so most of the people and media are gone when it actually goes down. The city council likes it this way for obvious reasons. So, if you plan to come, plan to stay until 9:30 or 10pm.

Whether you can make it or not, here's what folks can do:

  • Call the City Council members who are opposed to a NEX program. The main number of the Council is 413-787-6170. But you can also call them at home as well (#s listed below). Be rigorous and forthright. Their heads are made out of straw.

    Daniel D. Kelly 413-782-6588
    Rosemarie Mazza-Moriarty 413-781-3908
    Angelo J. Puppolo Jr. 413-782-5862
    Timothy J. Rooke 413-747-1825
    Domenic J. Sarno 413-734-1173

  • Get ready to come to our action! We will get some hotel rooms in case people want or need to sleep over. Let us know if you are going to need sleeping arrangements.

  • Write a letter to the editor of the Springfield Republican

  • Email this website to anyone who might be interested.

Venceremos!
